Meet the Teacher

Hello and welcome! 

I am originally from California and moved to Arizona 3 years ago. I graduated from California State University Fresno with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Education/Teacher Preparation. I specialized in plant science and have taught many types of classes. Within my beginning years of teaching, I taught chemistry, biology and earth science. I also taught career technical classes including welding, ag mechanics, veterinary science, floral design, horticulture and agricultural science. 

Science has always been a passion of mine with its beautiful way of explaining the world around us. Science is like magic, but real. If you were to sit in on our dinner conversations, you would hear my family discuss water molecules, the human immune system and the various nutrients in plants that allow them to develop. I love to ask the question why and encourage my students to do the same. It is only in the development of curiosity that we discover the world in its many layers. 

I am very excited to delve into the nature of our universe together and to get to know you all. Be prepared to experience question asking, random facts and some seriously bad puns! Welcome to the Deer Valley family and I can’t wait to meet you!
