About the Teacher

My name is Tyson Ditmore and this will be my first year at Mountain Ridge High School. I was born and raised in New Mexico and have been teaching physical education and special education for over 5 years. 

Teaching and coaching is my second career. I previously sold medical devices for 9 years in the Kansas City, MO area and I am excited to be back doing what I love. I was a 4 year letterman in football at the University of New Mexico and played two years in the American Indoor Football League (AIF). My undergraduate degree comes from the University of New Mexico as well as a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Special Education from Rio Salado College.

Being a former Division I Student-Athlete I am passionate about my career and helping others succeed. On campus I teach phsyical education and special education and am involved in athletics working as an assistant coach for the football team.

The educational approach that I take is that each student is unique and desires a stimulating atmosphere where they can progress physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. My goal is to create an environment that is welcoming and exciting for students to feel comfortable in reaching their full potential. I also believe that healthy and positive settings allow for students to express themselves in taking risks toward advancement.
