Freshmen Mentoring Program
Freshmen Mentoring Program
Setting up our incoming freshmen students for success is critical in ensuring their success for all four of their years here at Mountain Ridge. Our Freshmen Mentoring program consists of roughly 100 trained upperclassmen. Each mentor is in charge of a small group of freshmen. Freshmen are welcomed the day before the first day of school, and introduced to their mentor. Students become familiar with our campus and all things Mountain Ridge, so they feel comfortable from the start. There are subsequent quarterly lessons or activities that mentors develop and lead throughout the year, strategically aligned to upcoming events at school. Some of their lessons include:
* Social Media, appropriate use and possible consequences for inappropriate use.
* Preparing for final exams.
