Lisette Romero teaches Spanish and is the World Language department leader. She sponsors the MRHS Mentor Program and the World Languages Honor Society. She is a 2000 graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Post-Bac in Secondary Education from Ottawa University in 2002, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University in 2007. Born in Tucson and raised in Casa Grande, she is a native of Arizona. She enjoys exploring other cultures, listening to music, crafting, kayaking, camping, and hiking with her dogs. Lisette is married to Sean Romero, one of our retired MRHS Science teachers with four Mountain Lion alumni sons. The whole family loves MRHS! Go Ridge!

Our Mentors serve as role-models as they meet with freshmen students, teach cyber-safety lessons, plan activities geared for our 9th graders, ask and answer questions in small groups, check-in with freshmen to see if they need any help, and provide tips and advice for academics, arts, and athletics here at Ridge! 
Applications for the Mentor Program are available each year in March.  Please look for the application process on Canvas messenger and listen to school announcements for details.   
Mission Statement: The MRHS Mentors will provide insight for new Mountain Lions by bridging the gap between grade levels to create a safe and fun environment empowering them as future leaders. 

The GSA Club is a student-led club that promotes acceptance and respect for all!  The mission of our club is to provide a safe and caring place for all students to be themselves.  We meet after school on Wednesdays once a month in room C 219.  We talk, do arts and craft activities, listen to music, and have fun. 

Please visit Mrs. Romero or one of our club officers for updates and the next meeting dates.  Our first meeting of the year will be advertised in school announcements.

Each fall, Spanish and French 5-6 Honors, 7-8 Honors and AP students who qualify are encouraged to join our Honor Society.  We are an honors and a service organization.  We host an annual Cultural Festival for our level 1-2 and 3-4 students.  We meet monthly and strive to support fellow World Languages learners.  Please visit any of our upper-level teachers for more information.
