Mountain Ridge Mission Statement
The mission of Mountain Ridge is to provide real world connections with highly engaging classrooms that prepares graduates to meet the rigors and demands of the 21st century global citizens.

Welcome to my website. This site is designed to help students and parents throughout the year.  Classroom policies have been added so every student or parent can review these if questions arise.

Students, a quiz on the Expectations and Syllabus have been placed in Canvas.  Please go to Canvas, enter my class, and use the link to take the quiz.  You will need to have this completed by the 3rd day of school.

Suggestions on how to study & ideas on how to improve your overall understanding!!!
  • Be an active learner . . . ask questions during class or after class, volunteer answers, make a note of  my explanations of common mistakes, listen at all times so you hear all the details that go into each problem, and ask why your work is incorrect in order to identify your mistakes
  • Come in after school during office hours with specific questions or problems you would like to go over
  • When homework is graded, make a note of missed questions & wait about 3 days to redo those problems without looking at your previous work.  After those problems are complete, use your homework as the key.  You can always download another copy of the assignment from this website.
  • Watch the video lessons, when available, in your Canvas lesson.
  • Take your time . . . there are a lot of details in the problems.  Speeding through the work leads to missed details like assigning direction with the use of – or + values.
  • When I explain how to do a problem, don’t just copy it down but jot down notes on WHY each step was taken & number your work so you can look back and see the order it was completed.
  • Check out a textbook from the bookstore & read the chapter.  Spend some time looking at example problems in the chapter.
  • Some units have extra notes available.  Check out each unit on this website for supplemental notes and watch the video that goes with those fill in the blank notes.

Office Hours

  • You can find my weekly office hours posted in my classroom next to the whiteboard.  I am available most morning by 7:00 but my afternoon availability changes frequently due to meetings.  Please check the board to see when I am free.  When you plan to come in during my office hours please let me know 24 hours in advance by signing up for an appointment.  Don't forget to take advantage of AcaPrep times during 1st and 2nd hour.
