Hello and welcome to ELA 3-4! My name is Caitlin Ryan, and I am very excited to be here at Mountain Ridge! I have taught in the Deer Valley district for several years and am thrilled to be returning to Mountain Ridge's campus. I am originally from Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. From there, I moved out to Arizona and began my teaching career. I earned my Master's Degree from Grand Canyon University in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on Secondary Reading. I also recently certified to as a National Board Certified Teacher in English Language Arts for Adolescents and Young Adults. Basically, I love school! 😀
Outside of the classroom, I am mom to a beautifully rambunctious toddler named Charlie. She actually attends the pre-school here on campus; being close to her is the best! In my free time, I perform with a competitive a capella show choir (like the Pitch Perfect movies). I've actually been part of the organization since I was in high school myself! It's a ton of fun--great for the body, mind, and soul. Additionally, I enjoy reading (historical fiction and mystery/thriller are favorites) and hiking, when it's not too hot.
I am beyond excited for our year together. If there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to reach out!
