The American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State

American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are the premier programs for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills & an appreciation for your rights as a citizen. As a participant in the program, you, will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws, and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government in this exciting and fun summer program. ASU Barrett Summer Scholars Program: BSS is a unique summer program at Arizona State University for gifted, honors, and academically-talented students. This residential program invites students to live on campus, engage in college-level coursework, and participate in a community of peers from across the state. ASU César E. Chávez Leadership Institute (CCLI)
CCLI is a high energy, interactive one-week leadership program at ASU. Selected students participate in workshops, explore higher education, develop leadership skills, and participate in a community service project while living on the ASU campus.  http://outreach.asu.edu/ccli

ASU Digital Culture Summer Institute

Students engage their artistic and technical sides in a series of short, project-focused modules ranging from producing digital music to coding for games to 3-D printing and projecting mapping. ASU Health Institute: 

Summer Health Institute @ ASU During the institute, students will be able to experience a variety of health-related activities, including three hours daily of health care simulations such as suturing, IVs and intubation, at Creighton University School of Medicine at Dignity Health's St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and ASU’s Edson College of Nursing & Health Innovation’s Simulation Lab. You’ll also spend time interacting with professional health care providers and touring local health care facilities. The week of SHI takes place at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus.

ASU Summer Up Camps

Bank of America Student Leaders Program

Student Leaders recognizes those who lead and serve in their own communities and beyond. Bank of America will connect Student Leaders to tools and resources that will help them make communities better. A Student Leader will: work as a paid intern at a local nonprofit for 8 weeks, attending the week-long seminar in Washington, DC, develop leadership and career skills, and connect with like-minded students from your own community and across the country. Banner Boswell Medical Center - Junior Volunteer Program
Banner Boswell’s Junior Volunteer program provides teenagers with the opportunity to learn more about health care and give back to the community and our patients. Junior volunteers work in dozens of roles in nearly all departments, including Pharmacy, our Child Development Center, nursing units and even at our coffee bar. Helios Scholars at TGen is the research center's flagship summer internship and research program for Arizona students pursuing careers in bioscience and medicine. Each summer, 45 Helios Scholars spend eight weeks working in TGen's laboratories, receiving one-on-one mentorship from TGen scientists as they pursue new discoveries about serious illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, infectious diseases and many types of cancer. Miami University - Summer Scholars Program provides a rich, early college experience for academically talented rising high school students. These programs offer highly motivated, intellectually curious students the opportunity to investigate topics not typically taught in secondary schools. United States Naval Academy STEM program

UA Medicine

Summer Scrubs is a University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix program designed to inspire Arizona high school students to explore health care related careers. Located in downtown Phoenix and lasting one week, the program includes hands-on activities, field trips, simulation and related lab experiences plus lectures from medical students, faculty and community members. 
 
UA Summer Engineering Academy is a series of weeklong residential camps held on the University of Arizona campus for students passionate about engineering and science. This is a great opportunity for rising 9th-11th graders to explore engineering careers, get to know the University of Arizona, and meet lifelong friends. UA New Start Summer Program
New Start is a comprehensive, six-week summer bridge program designed to help incoming freshmen succeed in the transition from high school to college. http://newstart.arizona.edu/

UA Summer Institute on Medical Ignorance
This is a 7-week, paid research program for high school sophomores and juniors. Students who are financially, educationally, and/or socially disadvantaged are paid the minimum federal hourly wage for 40 hours a week for the duration of the program. http://www.ignorance.medicine.arizona.edu

UA Astronomy Camp
Arizona’s longest running summer camp! This program is for middle and high school students. Campers reside in "Sky Island" environments at the summits of Mt. Lemmon and Kitt Peak National Observatory http://astronomycamp.org

UA Med-Start Program
This is a 5-week program for minority, low income, & first generation students interested in health careers. Students must be High School Juniors. http://www.medstart.arizona.edu

USC Students in grades 10-12 can apply to attend a University of Southern California 4- or 2-week summer program.  USC Summer Programs offer students a preview of "freshman year" through its college immersion experience.  Students explore Los Angeles as a laboratory for cultural learning beyond the traditional classroom.  Their programs are designed to combine college level course work, academic field trips, and structured extracurricular activities.  Students may visit summer.usc.edu for more information and instructions on how to apply.
