MOUNTAIN RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER TRYOUT INFORMATION
Tryouts begin on Monday, November 3rd and end Friday, November 7th.
Monday- 2:30pm-4pm Main Field
Tuesday- 3pm-4:30pm Main Field
Wednesday- 3pm-4:30pm Lower Field
Thursday- 2:30pm-4pm Main Field
Friday- 1:15pm-2:45pm Main Field
First cuts will be made after Tuesday’s tryout if needed.
You will need to wear a plain white shirt each day. If you are trying out for Goalie, please wear a dark shirt. A number will be provided to you for tryouts. Do not wear a white shirt that already has a number on the back. Athletes are to check in with Coach Ryne. Please bring the following to tryouts:
- Cleats
- Running shoes
- Shin guards
- Water bottle
All athletes must be cleared by the athletic office prior to trying out. Last day to be cleared will be Friday, October 31st.
Athletes will be looked at for attributes below:
- Technical skills
- Tactical skills
- Defensive ability
- Athletic Ability
- Attitude, effort, and willingness to be coached
Activities will include:
- Technical drills: passing, dribbling, shooting, ect..
- Small sided scrimmage
- Full field scrimmage
- Small sided possession
- Daily Conditioning Tests

The Mountain Ridge soccer program has a 3rd team, this is the 3nd season. We have amazing coaches for this upcoming season. It is very important that everyone understands that each season is different, and no roster spot or team is guaranteed. An athlete may make a team that is a step down or above from prior years and that is OK.
Here are a few things we would like you to know before tryouts begin:
- An athlete at any grade level has the potential to make the varsity team. However, seniors cannot play at any other level and will have to make the varsity roster through tryouts.
- Team 2: Athletes in grades 9-11 have the ability to make this team through tryouts. Seniors cannot make this team.
- Team 3: Only 9th and 10th grade athletes can make this team. Juniors and Seniors cannot make this team.
- If a player makes one of these teams, there will be $120 fee (besides the participation fee) that will need to be paid at the beginning of the season The money will be put towards the 3rd team and equipment needed for all 3 teams.
- Player will also be required to purchase practice shirts if they make the team.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING:
· Wear a plain black shirt, you will be assigned a number
· Do not wear any soccer club affiliation clothing
· Bring your cleats, shin guards and a water bottle
ALL ATHLETES MUST BE CLEARED BY THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO TRYING OUT.
Last day to be cleared by the Athletics Department will be Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 12:00pm.
