Athlete of the Month 25-26
September

Sydney McCracken - Cross Country (Junior) - Sydney has been extremely dedicated and consistent in the off-season. She was born to race and is extremely fun to watch as she always seems to find another gear in the later part of the race. She has grown as a leader this year and has helped develop an amazing culture on the girls team. Sydney broke the 3m SCHOOL RECORD at the Woodbridge Classic in California, running it in 17:35.0 which ranks her 7th in the State. She is ready to lead this #3 Ranked Team to State next month.

Collin Foley - Cross Country (Senior) - Collin put in a lot of work in the off-season and the results are starting to show. He has the 7th fastest 5k and 3rd fastest 3m in the State. He now is the 3m SCHOOL RECORD HOLDER, running an impressive 14:36.6 at the Woodbridge Classic in California. He is only a few seconds away from breaking the 5k School Record. He is the leader of our #1 Ranked Team.

Peyton Decosta - Girls Golf (Junior) Peyton is a fantastic leader and golfer for Mountain Ridge. She averaged one under par for season and was the number ranked 10th going into the state tournament. Peyton ended up finishing 4th place at the division one state tournament as a Junior. She has a cumulative GPA of 3.71 She takes the time to help out the entire team and is always encouraging.

Alex Crotty - Cross Country (Senior) Alex helped the Boys Team win by finishing 2nd at the DVUSD Championships and is currently ranked #16 in Arizona and #5 in DI. He is #4 All-Time in Ridge Cross Country History at the 5k distance. Alex is a consistent, steady and calming presence on the team. He is always positive and gives everything he has every day. He comes to races prepared and is a smart runner.

Brieleigh Judge - Cheer (Senior)
Brie Judge, a young woman whose heart, leadership, and dedication shine every single day. Brie is the kind of athlete who lifts everyone around her. She always has a kind word, a supportive smile, or a moment of encouragement for her teammates—no matter what is happening in her own world. What makes Brie truly extraordinary is her willingness to adapt and step up without hesitation. When positions change or routines shift unexpectedly, she pivots with grace and determination. She never complains, never hesitates—she simply asks, “What does the team need?” and gives everything she has to make it work. Her selflessness and team-first mentality set a powerful example for everyone around her. Brie pours her whole heart into this program. She gives 110% in every practice, every performance, and every challenge. She is not just dependable—she is inspiring. She embodies everything we hope for in a student-athlete: kindness, resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to her team and school community. Brie doesn’t just deserve to be recognized—she has earned it through her everyday actions, her character, and the light she brings to our program.

Eric Reed - Cross Country (Senior)
Eric helped the Boys Team win the Sectional Championship meet by finishing in the Top 20. He had an amazing race at the State Championship meet where he finished 32nd and had passed over 40 runners in the last 2 miles to help the Boys Team finish 2nd (Runner-Up). He was also part of the first ever Ridge Cross Country Team to run in the Championship Race at the Nike Cross Regional meet. Erics consistency in training and preparation was a foundation for the success our team had this year. He is someone who leads by example.
